  1. STCU project 6362 (2018-2019) "Promising functional nanomaterials on the base of silicon and carbon for modern sensors and optoelectronics"
  2. The main objectives of the project are development and optimization of the technological methods for the synthesis of novel Si- and C-based luminescent nanoparticles with enhanced sensing functional properties and competitive combination of functionality/fabrication costs/large scale production/environment & human safety and development of our understanding of physical mechanism of the luminescence and chemical sensing in carbonaceous nanomaterials.
The prime novelty of the project is development of technologies for synthesize of new type of light-emitting carbon-based nanocomposite materials and optimization of known Si-based nanopaterials for bioimaging applications, white light sources and gas sensors. Main advantages of carbon-based nanomaterials are: (1) spectral tunability; (2) inexpensive and commonly available starting materials; (3) biocompatibility and environmental safety.

  3. STCU project 5513 (2012-2014) "Development of the technology of light-emitting nanocomposite materials SiO2:C for prospective white light sources"
  4. The main objectives of the project are development of the novel technological methods for the synthesis of white-light emitting carbonized silicon oxide based materials with improved efficiency and color properties of white light emission, and ascertainment of physical mechanism of the luminescence in the materials.
The prime novelty of the present project is to use (1) carbon related light-emission sites instead of expensive (in some cases even toxic) activator metals and (2) silicon oxide as a host absorption matrix instead of crystalline composites. The main advantages of new material as a white phosphor are: (1) good color properties (similar to the scattered sun light), (2) transparency in visible spectrum range, (3) inexpensive technology, and (4) environment safety.
